Arlene Myrna Homan

Raleigh, NC -Arlene Myrna Homan, 94, formerly of Lisbon, died May 27, 2009 in Raleigh.



Born April 13, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Fred Francis and Hazel Jenora (Segesman) Girard.



She had been a teacher at McKinley Elementary School, Washingtonville and Leetonia Schools.



She was a member of New Lisbon Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for many years, Iva Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and the Lisbon Historical Society volunteering at the Old Stone House museum.



Surviving are a son, Gary G. (Doris) Homan of Ellicott City, MD, a daughter, Joyce (David) McPherson of Raleigh, and a brother, Kenneth Girard of Englewood, FL; four grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.



Her husband, Charles W. Homan, whom she married June 14, 1939, died August 23, 2001. Also deceased is a brother, Leroy Girard.



Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at the Heckewelder Memorial Moravian Church in Gnadenhutten, OH with Rev,. Darrell Johnson officiating. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Gnadenhutten Clay Union Cemetery.



I n lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC 27605.



Funeral arrangements are being cared for by the Weber Funeral Home.
