Lisbon -Betty M. Herrod, 82 of Lisbon went home to be with the Lord at 4:05 PM Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Vista Center.
Born June 14, 1928 in Clarksburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Maggie M. (Hustead) Cunningham.
She had worked as bus driver for Lisbon Exempted Village Schools for more than twenty years.
A member of the Lisbon First United Methodist Church, she was a graduate of Lumberport High School. She was an artist who was an avid painter. She enjoyed gardening and restoring antique furniture. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, entering contests at the county fair and Johnny Appleseed Festival.
Survivors include two children, Wayne (Amy) Herrod of Lisbon and Sharon (Dan) Flatley of Dallas, TX; siblings Lee Cunningham of Lumberport, WV, Ruby Katherine Rake of Orrville, OH, Juanita Snyder of Sherman, TX, Keith Cunningham of Minerva, and Mary Ellen Plough of Orrville.
Her husband, O. Jack Herrod, whom she married September 3, 1948 died in 1998. Her sister Naomi Stark is also deceased.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Pam Gable officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
