Lisbon -Clyde David Eskew, 96, formerly of Lisbon Road died at 10:40 PM
Monday, March 2, 2009 at Salem Community Hospital.
Born May 16, 1912 in Buchannon, WV, he was a son of the late David and Mary
(Shrader) Eskew.
An Army veteran of WW II, he worked as a laborer at Mullen's Manufacturing in
Salem and later owned and operated Eskew's Amoco in Gavers for 23 years retiring in
1983.
A sister, Mary (John) Schnader of Lisbon survives.
His wife. Mareta (Bruey) Eskew whom he married in 1940 died in 1999. Also
deceased are his daughter Joyce A. Eskew, brothers Cecil, Raymond, and Maxwell Eskew
and James and Ernest Smallwood; sisters Virginia Stalnaker, Osa Sharp, Amy Little, and
Maxine Duvall.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Weber Funeral Home with the
Rev. Jenna Brown officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends
may call on hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
