Lisbon -Curtis F. Nicholson, 70, of Lisbon passed away at 10:10 AM Friday, February 4, 2011 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born April 6, 1940 in Lisbon , he was a son of the late Robert J. and Esther (Greaves) Nicholson.
Curt retired in 2008 after working as a custodian for the Lisbon School System for thirty years. He had served on the Lisbon Police Department Auxiliary and worked at Weber Funeral Home for many years.
A Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School and a member of V.F.W. Post 4111 and F.O.E. Aerie 2216 where he was a Golden Eagle member.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy L. (Sinsley) Nicholson whom he married July 19, 1997; siblings Rose Marie Taylor of Winona, Robert Nicholson of Lisbon, and Sarah (John) Haines of Guilford Lake; step-children Lori (Carl) Smith and Jesse Rhodes, both of Lisbon; 8 step-grandchildren and 5 heart-grandchildren.
A brother, Dean Nicholson, is deceased.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at the Weber Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert DeLong officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may visit from 1 to 4 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
