Salineville -Daniel Lee Thompson, 67, passed away at 10:14 AM Friday, January 20, 2012 at Louis Stokes Veterans Medical Center in Cleveland.
Born March 12, 1944 in Lisbon, he was the son of the late David W. and Lois (Warrick) Thompson.
Daniel was a Notary and served in the United States Navy as a Yeoman on the USS Fremont during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He was a member of the Amvets, D.A.V., and was a life member of the V.F.W. He enjoyed woodworking, travel, auctions, and the Rogers Sale, as well as car shows.
Survivors include his wife, the former Gail Strunk, whom he married April 24, 1991; 4 daughters: Brenda Lee Jones of Englewood, FL, Tracy Lynn Knecht of Wadsworth, Vicki Ray (Chris) Charlton of Medina, and Velvet Marie(Kenny) Bratt of Sandusky; and 3 step-children: Larry Dale Johnson, and Dean (Vanessa ) Johnson of Lisbon, Michelle Renee' Johnson of Salineville, and step-daughter-in-law Jackie Rose Johnson of New Middletown; brothers William 'David' (Wilda) Thompson and Walter Neil Thompson, both of Elkton; 20 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
A brother, George Thomas Thompson, and step-son, Brian Paul Johnson, are deceased.
The funeral will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Pamela Gable officiating. Burial will follow in Kimble Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Military honors will be provided by the Salineville American Legion.
