Lisbon - Donald Geoffrey Chandler, 85, of Megan Place passed away with family members present at 10:40 PM Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Vista Centre of Lisbon.
Born January 30, 1928 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Harold K. and Elva Chandler.
He earned bachelors degrees from both Amherst College and Ohio State University, as well as a M.Ed from Ohio State. He taught math at United Local High School for 26 years, retiring in 1986, and continued his education to earn a Ph.D. from Ohio State in 1992.
Don enjoyed outdoor activities; including biking, hiking, and swimming. His interest in travel led him to many places throughout the world. He and Lois spent 2 years as missionaries teaching in Thailand.
In addition to his wife Lois Myrtle (Kruse) Chandler whom he married June 14, 1964; he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, 5 great-great nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church with Reverend Mark Wilds officiating. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery. Visitation is 6 PM to 8 PM Friday at the Weber Funeral Home.
