West Point -Donald Henry Possage, Sr., 95, of SR 518 died in the emergency room at East Liverpool City Hospital at 12:23 AM Saturday, June 9, 2012.
Born August 1, 1916 in West Point, he was a son of the late Anthony Henry and Iona Mae (Williams) Possage.
He worked as a self-employed truck driver in the coal business for many years and later as a foreman for the Madison Township road department.
A graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, he was a founding member of the West Point Fire Department. Mr. Possage was a WW II Navy Veteran.
Survivors include 5 children: Anthony H. Possage of East Liverpool, Ruth V. Pollock of Auburndale, FL, Lynn D. (Joanne) Possage of Monaca, PA, Linda K. (Richard) Romisher of Aliquippa, and Van W. (Teresa) Possage of West Point; 31 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Virginia (McCauley) in 2000. Also deceased are 4 children Donald H. Possage, Jr., Robert G. Possage, John W. Possage, and Bruce A. Possage; brothers Eugene, Francis, Walter, and Robert; grandchildren: Amanda, Lori, and Andrew Possage; ;great-granddaughter Nicole Possage.
The funeral will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Joyce Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Calling hours are 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
