Columbiana -Donald Shonts, 76, formerly of Lisbon, died Tuesday afternoon March 24, 2009at Parkside Nursing Home.
Born August 1, 11932 in Lisbon, he was the son of the late Wilbur Anthony and Clara Beatrice (Oliver) Shonts.
He was Valedictorian of the David Anderson High School class of 1951 and graduated Cum Laude from Notre Dame University in 1955. He worked as an accountant for the former George C. Willie Company in Canton.
He was an Army veteran and a member of St. George Catholic Church.
Surviving are 12 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews as well as great-great-nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Madeline (Hugh) Sherer and Camille (Edwin) Viets, are deceased.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Edwards at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. George Catholic Church. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 PM Friday at the Weber Funeral Home.
