Columbiana -Doris May Eells, 81, died at 10:20 AM Thursday, January 22, 2009 at
Salem Community Hospital.
Born, May 17, 1927 in Lisbon, she was a daughter of the late George W. and
Ernestine T. (Parsons) Jones.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where she served as a lay
reader and Sunday school teacher and was a member of Vestry. She was also a member
of Church Women United and was once named its Woman of the Year. She was a
supporter of Second Harvest Food Bank and the Disabled American Veterans
Association. For many years, she also served as a poll worker for the Board of Elections.
Survivors include her three children, Rick (Jennifer) Eells of Lisbon, Terri
(James) Klemann of Salem and Scott (Michelle) Eells of Guilford Lake; six
grandchildren: Chris Eells, Kelly Eells Boerio, Nicole Klemann , Erica Klemann
Wolford, Amanda Klemann Pursley, and Meghan Eells as well as six great-grandchildren.
Her husband, George E. Eells, whom she married November 20, 1949, died
November 13, 2008. Also deceased are an infant daughter and a brother, William Jones.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church
with the Rev. Fayette Grose officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may
call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the Weber Funeral Home.
