Columbiana -Douglas F. Fryer, 64, died unexpectedly at 12:27 AM Tuesday morning April 19, 2011 at Salem Community Hospital.
Born March 10, 1947 in Washington, PA, he was a son of Edgar Roy Fryer and the late Helen (Yankas) Fryer.
He had worked as a quality control inspector at General Extrusions for many years and retired from Metal and Wire Manufacturing in 2008.
Presbyterian by faith, he was a graduate of Youngstown State University. He enjoyed stamp collecting and golfing.
A devoted family man, he is survived by his father of Pennsylvania, his wife, Cheryl (Sweeney) Fryer whom he married August 20, 1977, a daughter Megan E. (Ryan Brown) Fryer of East Palestine, his grandson Gavin P. Fryer with whom he spent much of his time, and a brother Edgar Fryer of North Carolina as well as many nieces and nephews.
A sister, Arlene Hyder, is deceased.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. James Lang officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
