Lisbon - Edward C. Day, 74, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, March 15, 2015.
A son of the late Elmer S. and Pearl I. (Gunther) Day, Ed was born March 26, 1940 in Salem.
He had held a number of positions having worked as a truck driver, police officer, former owner of Pondi’s, and as the superintendent of the Lisbon street department.
Ed was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a former member of St. Jacob United Church of Christ. He loved and owned many classic cars over the years. He enjoyed attending car cruises and being with the many cherished friends he made there.
Survivors include his Loving companion Deborah Long of Lisbon, his daughter Durane (Scott) Duncan of Canton, granddaughter Emily (TJ) Schramm of Pittsburgh; sister Dory Caldwell and brother Dr. Elmer S.(Julie) Day, Jr., both of Salem
There will be a funeral service at noon Wednesday at the Weber Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Jones officiating. Burial will be at St. Jacob Church Cemetery. Calling hours are 10:00 am until the time of the service.
