Edward Sears Toolis

Lisbon -Dr. Edward S. Toolis, Sr., 85, of Lisbon Road died Tuesday Morning March 31, 2009 at his home.



Born January 12, 1924 in Cleveland, he was the son of the late John E. and Virginia (Cabell) Toolis.



He had worked as a dentist in Lisbon for many years, retiring in 1986.



A WW II Navy Combat veteran, he served in the South Pacific and later served in the U.S. Army as a dentist. He was a member of American Legion John J. Welsh Post 275, Harding Concordia F and AM #345 of Cleveland, Consistory of Sante Fe, NM, Tadmor Temple of Akron, Corydon Palmer Dental Society, Ohio State Dental Society, American Dental Association, past president of Rotary, past member of Kiwanis, and served as Lisbon Baseball Commissioner for two years.



Survivors include his wife, the former Corma Jean Brooks whom he married July 3, 1999; his son, Dr. Edward S. (Susan) Tools, Jr., of Lisbon, daughters Anita (Larry) Torok of Medina, and Kathleen (Donald) Begue of East Rochester; four grandchildren: Emily Begue of Atlanta, Erin Toolis Amy Toolis, and John Toolis all of Lisbon; and a sister, Virginia Williams of Parma.



He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna L (Holt) Toolis in 1986, second wife, Marion F. (Madge) Toolis in 1988, and third wife, Edna H. (Harper) Toolis in 1997.



Private family services were held yesterday at Lisbon Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Ready officiating.
