Lisbon- Edwin Hill Cusick, 80, passed away at his home Friday, July 29, 2016 following a lengthy illness.
Ed was born October 11, 1935 in Centerville, PA, a son of the late Harvey H. and Doris E. (Teasdale) Cusick.
He worked for Hillyer’s Fine Foods for 34 years and then for Sparkle for 8 years before retiring in 1997.
A member of the First United Methodist Church of Lisbon, he was a 1953 graduate of David Anderson High School and a 50-year member and past president of the Lisbon Lions Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. His trips included Hawaii, Mexico, Germany, Monte Carlo, and many bus trips with his wife and friends. He was also active in the Share Bears Against Cancer Team.
Known as “Poppy” among his family, his survivors include three daughters: Cristine (Jeffrey) Sell of East Liverpool, Lori (Timothy) Crowl), and Marti (Don) Grimm, both of Lisbon. There are five grandchildren: Ryan (Emily) McMillan of Columbus, Trevor (Erika) McMillan of Concord, NC, Dustin (Kayla) Crowl of Salem, Alyssa Grimm and Adam Grimm, both of Lisbon. There are also two great-grandchildren: Carter and Claire McMillan and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred “Millie” (Conn) Cusick whom he married July 17, 1955. She died in 2008. Also deceased are his sister Jane McDevitt and Nephew Michael Conn.
The family extends sincere appreciation to Ed’s long-term caregiver Mary Jo Fitzpatrick and Nancy Kelley, and Deanne Howe who helped care for him over the past month.
The funeral will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Weber Funeral Home with Dana Blackburn officiating. Calling hours are 4 to 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with a Lions Club service at 7:00. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
