Lisbon - Eugene R. Gauding, 85, passed away Friday evening, May 20, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic.
Gene was born August 8, 1930 in Salem, the son of the late Ferdinand S. and Mary E. (Greenameyer) Gauding.
He had worked for more than 3o years at Eljers and was a self-employed television repairman.
Christian by faith, he was an Army veteran. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Grange and enjoyed square dancing and camping. He wintered in Florida for many years and enjoyed reading.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Myers) Gauding whom he married August 8, 2004; a son Randall E. (Bonnie) Gauding of Columbiana, 5 step-children: Jim (Jane) Hofer of Lisbon, Judy (Bob) Martin of Columbiana, Tom (Sally) Gushert of Lisbon, Barbara (Doug) Barber of Columbiana, and Danny Rambo of Lison. Lisbon as well as 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grand-grandchildren, and a great- grandson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy (Grimes) Gauding, a step-son Paul Rambo, a grandson John Hofer, and 5 siblings: Lester, Annabelle, Norman, Donald, and Albert.
Services will be at 100 PM Wednesday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Seaux of the Lake Mount Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial with military honors will be at Lisbon Cemetery.
