Frances was born on November 17, 1942 in Lisbon Ohio, a daughter of
Mabel I. (Whan) Penny and the late Frank R. Penny. She graduated from Lisbon David
Anderson High School in 1960.
Frances wed her husband, Paul N. Gearin, on July 19, 1980, sharing 35 years of marriage.
Frances attended the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Highlandtown and the First United Methodist Church in Lisbon. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting, puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
Frances was employed for many years with the U.S. Postal Service working as a rural carrier in Kensington and later working at the Lisbon office, retiring in 2001.
In addition to her mother, Mabel, of Lisbon and her husband, Paul, of Kensington, Frances will be dearly missed by her children: Brenda (Tim) Geon, Marla Phillips, Krista Golden and Tonia Gearin, all of Lisbon OH; Paula (David) Rhodes of Wichita Falls TX; and Mathew Gearin of Kensington OH. Her grandchildren: Michael Geon, Zachary Rovnak, Zane Tray, Ryan Frantz, Reagan Frantz, Reese Frantz, Rylie Frantz and Dylan Rhodes, will also deeply miss their "Mum-Mum".
Her father, Frank, passed away in October of 1978.
A private memorial service was held Monday at the Lisbon First United Methodist Church with burial in the Lisbon Cemetery. The Weber Funeral Home was entrusted with all arrangements.
