Lisbon - Gale E. Meek, 66, died peacefully Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Boardman.
Born January 16, 1949 in Salem, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Mary (Shaw) Meek.
He was a journeyman machinist and taught machine trades at East Liverpool High School prior to his retirement.
He was a graduate of Leetonia High School and a 1980 graduate of Kent St-+ate University.
Gale was a talented wood crafter. He loved gardening, antique cars, making people laugh, and being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Diane (Dillinger) Meek whom he married September 17, 1967, four daughters: Jennifer Michele (Rick) Meek Eells and, Trudi Lynn Holloway both of Lisbon, Laura Diane (companion Ed Yurkovich) Meek Kampfer, and Lisa Ann (companion Steve Finch) Meek, both of Salem. There are nine grandchildren: Chris Eells, Kelli Boerio, Maddy Miller, Danielle Fatherly, Daemin Robinson, Christian Kampfer, Jacob Kampfer, Darian Robinson, and Jocelyn Koontz, and two great-grandchildren, Haley and Grace Martin.
He was preceded in death by his brother Gary Allen Meek.
Services will be held at 8:00 PM Friday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Tina Gallaher officiating. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 PM prior to the service.
