George Gilbert Short

Lisbon - George G.  Short, 87, passed away at 2:51 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at East Liverpool City Hospital.
He was born February 6, 1930 in Ivydale, WV, the son of the late Orastes and Alma M. (Hathaway) Short.
He had worked as a coal miner for many years.

George was a kind man who always had a smile on his face and will be missed by his family and many friends.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his children: Ed Moore of Salem, Dale (Debbie) Short, George Short, Jr., Kevin Short, and John Short all of Lisbon; his sisters, Wanda Winnell of Charleston, WV, Ruth Jacobs of Cleveland, and Susie Stroessner of Arkansas; and a brother, Henry “Boodle” Short of Salineville. There are seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally (Moore) Short in 2003 as well as his daughter Bonnie Rambo, and siblings Nancy Uptergrove, Shirley Short, Bernice Beech, and Carney Short.

The funeral will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Weber Funeral Home with Pastors Robert and Pamela Kidd officiating. Burial will be at Lisbon Cemetery.
