Lisbon -Gregg Lee Ramsey, 91, of Lisbon died at Salem Community Hospital Thursday, April 30, 2009.



Born May 28, 1917 in Georgetown, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph W. and Wilda V. (Cameron) Ramsey.



He owned and operated Ramsey Welding and worked as an independent contractor for Columbia Gas. He also owned and operated Wright Buffing Wheel for more than twenty years.



He was a member of New Lisbon Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Trustee, and Deacon; a member of Lisbon Ruritan Club, a past member of Mill Creek Presbyterian Church in Beaver County, PA where he served as a Sunday school superintendent and church treasurer; and a past member of Farmers National Bank Board of Directors.



Surviving are his children Judy A. (Gary) Pike, Nancy R. (Robert) Dickey, and John G. (Jane) Ramsey all of Lisbon; a sister, Dorothy Kinder Harrington of Weirton, WV; and grandchildren Bradley Pike, Sarah Blocksom, Benjamin Dickey, Matthew, Mark, and Todd Ramsey, and Ann Metzlar as well as two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Emily Pike.



His wife, the former Marian A. McSwegin, whom he married June 14, 1942 died February 24, 2009. Also deceased are a grandson, Scott Pike; four brothers: Joseph, Kenneth, Wayne, and Glenn Ramsey; and two sisters, Gladys Pinder and Dessa Foster.



A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday (today) at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mark Wilds officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM today at the church.



The family would like to thank the helpful hands of Gregg's caregivers: Margie, Cynthia, Lori, Joyce, Theresa, Stephanie, Carol, Mary, and Kevin.



Memorial contributions may be made to the Gerrard Scholarship Fund at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church, 111 East Chestnut Street, Lisbon, OH 44432.
