Salem-Hazel Virginia Stewart, 87, formerly of Lisbon, passed away at 6:55 AM Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Salem Community Hospital.
Born February 17, 1924 in Wayne Township, she was a daughter of the late Verne and Laura (McGeehan) Stewart.
She had worked as a housekeeper for many years until she became disabled.
Hazel had been active in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and was known for her hand-sewing, quilting, sock monkeys, and mending.
She was preceded in death by her sister Mrs. Raymond Bilsky and a brother Raymond Stewart.
Although Hazel leaves no immediate family, she will be missed by many dear friends.
Services will be held at noon Monday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Meta Cramer officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
