Lisbon -Hugh Lawrence Logston, 76, passed way following a long battle with Parkinson's disease at 7:50 PM Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Vista Center.
Born June 25, 1935 in Chester, WV, he was a son of the late Dana Holly and Zona Delee (Arnott) Logston.
He worked as a truck driver for the Ohio Department of Transportation for more than twenty years and as a bus driver for Lisbon Schools for 10 years prior to retiring in 1996.
He attended the New Alexander Christian Church and was a member of the Tri-State Geological and Historical Society and was an avid Steelers fan.
Survivors include his wife, the former Helen Mae Powell, whom he married August 14, 1954; his children Sandy McGaffic of Lisbon and Phillip L. Logston of Salineville; 8 grandchildren: Jessica Tovah and Tyler both of Arizona, Adam of Myrtle Beach, Amanda an her fiancé Scott of Lisbon, Mallory, Zachary, Hannah and Hillary all of Salineville; 4 great-grandchildren in Arizona; sisters Martha DeCapio of Weirton, WV, Dorothy Mehaffey of Chester, Frances (George) Lee of Louisville, and Beatrice Sgro of Beaver, PA; and a brother Delmar (Laura) Logston of New Cumberland, WV.
He was preceded in death by a son Marlon 'Mick' Logston, and brothers Leroy, William, Robert, and Kenneth 'Buck' Logston.
Calling hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Weber Funeral Home. The Funeral will follow at 8:00 PM officiated by Thomas Miller.
