Salineville – Ida M. Jarvis, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Ida was born on April 29, 1940 in Weston, WV, daughter of the late Dallas and Mary (Butcher) Rosier.
In the late 1960’s Ida enjoyed her time spent tending bar in the Oak Room at the Timberlanes. After her children started school at Southern Local, she volunteered wherever the school needed help. The relationships formed while volunteering led to Ida being employed in the school cafeteria. When Walmart first opened in Calcutta, she was among the first hired to work in the fabric department. Ida retired as a Walmart door greeter in 2019. In her spare time, Ida could be found on her porch enjoying the view.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Alicia (Jim) Mills, Karla VanKirk, and Tom “TAJ” (Chastity) Jarvis; her grandchildren: Susan Bratt, William Bratt, Jimmy (Emily) Mills, Alex Mills, Zoe Jarvis and Grace Jarvis. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Linda Rosier, and her many life-long neighborhood friends.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Samuel Roberts, siblings Louise Kinsey and Keith Rosier.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, January 28 at the Weber Funeral Home. The day will conclude with a private farewell prayer.
