Lisbon - James William Gardner, 67, died at 3:29 AM Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Salem Regional Medical Center emergency department.
Born September 13, 1951 in Canton, he was the son of the late James W. and Betty J. (Young) Gardner.
He worked as a truck driver for Chester Hoist for 40 years before retiring in 2014.
A 1970 graduate of David Anderson High School, he was an active member of Lisbon Eagles Aerie 2216 where served as secretary for 23 years. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and member of New Lisbon, F & AM No. 65 and a member of V.F.W. Post 4111 Lisbon and American Legion Post 131 Leetonia. He was past president of United Steel Workers Union 372. He was also a big Cleveland sports fan and loved his cats Kibble and Sly.
Survivors include his wife Nancy J. (Hahn) Gardner whom he married March 29, 2010; step-children Nikki Cuevas and Rhonda Ramirez of Lubbock, TX; his sister Peg Dotson of Lisbon; and nieces and nephews Steve Dotson, Julie Morris, and Jeff Dotson as well as five great-nieces and nephews and two great-great-nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Weber Funeral Home with Bob Garwood of the Lisbon First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday with an Eagles service at 8:00 PM.
