James Albert Hornsby

July 16, 1957 — October 31, 2010

Lisbon -James A. Hornsby, 53, of Apple Grove Homes passed away at 9:35 AM Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Salem Care Center following a long battle with cancer.



Born July 16, 1957 in Salem, he was a son of Lovinah (Vi) (nee Dales) Coffman and the late Albert Hornsby.



Jimmy had done housework in many private homes and worked in several local businesses including the Steel Trolley Diner and Howard's Barber Shop for many years.



He enjoyed fishing, camping, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed helping people and was always busy coming to the aid of others.



Survivors include his mother of Washingtonville and sisters Deborah Makis and Cheryl Thorne both of Washingtonville as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.



In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brothers William and Mark Hornsby; a sister Christine Hornsby; niece Dorothy Fungi; aunt Mary Marshall; uncles Richard Dales and Harless Hornsby; and grandparents Honor and Thelma Dales and Gladys and Albert Hornsby.



The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday ay the Weber Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Williamson of Salem Southeast Friends Church officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Square cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.



The family would like to thank the Columbiana County Counseling Center for their many years of tireless work with Jimmy.
