Lisbon -Jane Caroline Mayerhofer, 84, formerly of Applegate Road passed away at 4:50 pm Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Sterling House of Salem.
Born February 12, 1926 in Poland, OH, she was a daughter of the late Herbert James and Della Lucille (Reesh) Martin.
A 1944 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, she was a member of Poland Presbyterian Church, the Women's Bowling Association and its Hall of Fame. She was an avid card player and enjoyed knitting, auctions, and antiquing as well as travel including numerous trips to Germany.
Survivors include three daughters: Deborah Frease of Poland, Bonnie (Jim) Smith, and Callie (Sam) Sowards both of Lisbon; a sister, Barbara (Bob) Baer of Poland; 7 grandchildren: Billy (Carrie) Frease, Callie, and Quinn Frease, Mike (Michele) Smith, Casey (Jeff) Krysiak, Tyler and Ryan Sowards; 4 great-grandchildren: Lydia, Matthew, Jordan, and Camden; a niece Cindy Meranto; and a nephew, Doug Baer.
She was preceded in death in 1987 by her husband Oscar X. Mayerhofer whom she married in 1958. An infant brother is also deceased.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Poland Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
