Salem -John M. Fairbaugh, 89, died at 8:50 PM Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Sterling House.
Born May 20, 1920 in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late John W. and Elizabeth (Spear) Fairbaugh.
He worked for the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad for 41 years, retiring in 1980 as a Transportation Superintendent.
A WW II Army veteran, he was a 1938 graduate of McKeesport High School. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Boardman and the Church of Our Saviour in Salem as well as Aliquippa F and AM and Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He spent many of his retirement years in Myrtle Beach golfing.
Survivors include his daughter Marsha L. (Frank) Delligatti of Lisbon; three grandchildren: Aimee (Rick) Dunn, Zachary Delligatti, and Stephanie Delligatti all of Lisbon; and a great-granddaughter, Jessalyn Dunn.
His wife, the former Martha Cornman, whom he married October 10, 1942 died December 31, 2000.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Weber Funeral Home, Lisbon with the Rev. Fayette Grose officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 PM Friday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Saturday.
