Leetonia -John Robert Finch, 40, died in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown Friday, March 30, 2012.
Born April 7, 1971 in Salem, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Finch and Deborah Kay (Smith) McGath.
He worked as a STNA at Blossom Nursing Home. Previously, he worked as a police officer in Leetonia and as Chief of Police in Washingtonville. In addition, he had worked as an owner/operator truck driver and at the Columbiana water plant for several years.
John was An Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed playing guitar with his sons, fishing, boating, and gardening with his father-in-law. He was a 1990 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School
Survivors include his wife Crystal G. (Jeffers) Finch; sons Alex M. Finch, Timothy J. Finch; and step-son Nickolas A. Finch all of Leetonia as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Sean M. Finch.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will be in Kimble Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
