Lisbon -John Herbert Sharpe, 80, formerly of Sherman Street died at 8:06 PM
Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Salem Community Hospital.
Born December 3, 1928 in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late Marvin Sharpe
and Laura "Alice" (Betts) Stiles.
John was retired from the U.S. Airforce where he worked as an airplane
mechanic.
He was a veteran of WW II, Korea and Vietnam and was a meber of VFW Post
4111, American Legion Post 275, and Lisbon Eagles Aerie 2216.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan (Chris) Brown of Lancaster, sons David
(Linda) Holland and Matt ( Michelle Elliott) Holland both of Lisbon, daughter Janine
Dionne of Louisianna, a special niece Carole Fisher of Calcutta, grandchildren Samantha
Brown, David Holland, Jr., Corey Cope, and Karen and Linda Dionne. He is also
survived by many nieces and nephews and his brother-in-law Ray Richardson of Calcutta
as well as a very special long-time friend Vera (Pephtele) Higgins of East Liverpool.
He was preceeded in death by his wife, Gloria (Holland ) Sharpe in 1999. Also
deceased is a son, Daniel Holland, and a sister, Mary Ruth Richardson,
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Weber Funeral Home with the
Rev. William Lawson officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Crest Haven
Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday (today) at the funeral home
and one hour prior to the service Saturday.
