Lisbon -Karen S. Nenichka, 56, of Hunter Camp Road received her wings at 6:20 AM Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Salem Hospital.



Born February 17, 1953 in Salem, she was a daughter of the late Harold Norman and Violet Marie (Mellinger) Smith.



She had worked as a home healthcare aide and later as a prep cook at the Taste of Country.



A 1971 graduate of Salem High School, she had attended the First United Methodist Church of Lisbon and the Salvation Army in Salem. She was a member of F.O.E. Aerie 2216 Ladies Auxiliary, a life member of VFW Post 4111 Ladies Auxiliary, and founder of the Honey "B" Club.



Survivors include her husband James B. Nenichka whom she married March 23, 1974; three children: James B. Nenichka, Jr. (JJ) of Lisbon, Nicholas S. Nenichka of Patrick AFB, FL, and Maria D. Gossens of Ft. Leonardwood, MO; seven sisters: Carol A. (Bill) Smith and Linda L. Baker, both of Lisbon, Rita M. Brady of Youngstown, Joyce E. (Kathy Ezaway) Smith of Mansfield, Debbie (Dan) Martin of Canfield, Brenda (Jack) Hogue of Connecticut, and Holly A. Kerr of Lisbon; a half brother Robert N. Smith of Virginia; five grandchildren: Marcus, Trevor, and Talan Nenichka, and Ashley and Keith Devos as well as many nieces and nephews.



A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Pam Gable officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 AM Saturday at the funeral home.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.
