Lisbon - Karen Viets, 69 passed away Friday at UPMC Psssavent-McCandles Hospital in Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness.
Born July 28, 1946 in Youngstown, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Camille (Shonts) Viets.
She was retired from UPMC Children’s Hospital where she had worked as a transcriptionist.
She was a graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School and had attended the First Christian Church of Lisbon.
Karen is survived by her sisters Barbara, Ginger, and Donna Viets, and Sandy (Al) Becka all of Lisbon, Debbie (Perry) Burkholder of Stuart’s Draft, VA, and Kim (Chris) Krawczyk of Norton. There are three brothers, Tom, Kevin and Shawn Viets (Christa), all of Lisbon as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings David Lyn, Patricia Ann, twin siblings Jeffrey Leigh and Mary Elizabeth Viets, as well as Judy Brletich.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Weber Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Jones of the Pilgrim Holiness Church officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
