Rockwell, NC -Laura Belle Custer, 92, formerly of West Point, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Autumn Care Nursing Center in Salisbury, North Carolina.
She had resided at Carillon Assisted Living of Salisbury since September of 2008.
Born August 1, 1919 in Negley, she was a daughter of the late Leroy Dennis and Mary Jane (Straub) Huff.
She worked as a cook at Beaver Local Schools for more than twenty years.
A graduate of Negley High School, she had been a member the West Point Grange, the former Madison Presbyterian Church, and attended West Beaver Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her son Donald (Darlene) Custer of Rockwell, NC , sisters Gladys (Delbert) Hostetter of Rogers and Sara Cope of East Palestine, two grandsons, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death in 1963 by her husband Donald L. Custer whom she married November 23, 1939. Also deceased are an infant son and a sister Kate Grim.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Wilds officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
