Lisbon - Melvin E. Bricker, 72, died following an accident on his property Monday evening June 18, 2018,
Born June 5, 1946 in Salem, he was a son of the late Galen E. Bricker and Iona B (Malone) Bricker-Smith.
He was employed by Center Township and previously by R & S Drilling and the Lisbon Street Department.
A Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabee’s, Mel was a member and past commander of V.F. W. Post 4111 and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2216, and the Tri-County 4-Wheelers Club. He was a master fabricator and enjoyed working in the machine shop with his brother. He was a jack of all trades and master of most. He loved animals and riding horses, but his passion was drag racing.
Survivors include three daughters: Heather Houlette, Nicole (Chris) Eells, and April Bricker-Curfman, all of Lisbon; 8 grandchildren: Collin and Darrin, Morgan, Bryanna, Hailey, TJ, and Kaiden; two brothers, Warren (Mary Beth) Bricker and James (Patty) Bricker as well as his nephews Chris and Jamey Bricker and Matthew and Timothy Bricker and John Klem.
His wife, Carole (Petrick) Bricker preceded him in death in 2016 and a grandson Jacob Germanovich.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
