Lisbon -Merle Leroy Schreffler, III, 56, died at 11:55 AM Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Salem Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Merle was born September 2, 1957 in Salem to Alice (Ward) Wolford and the late Merle L. Schreffler, Jr.
He had worked as an auto detailer at the former Main Street Motors in Columbiana.
Survivors include his wife Debbie Jo (Robinson) Schreffler whom he married April 27, 1990; four children: Gene Schreffler of Salem, Samantha Schreffler of Negley, Jeanie Schreffler of East Liverpool, and Briana Schreffler of Industry, PA; two step-children: Rachel Schreffler of Guilford Lake and Tony Hickman of Lisbon; seven grandchildren: Norman, Hayle, Gaige, Tyler, CJ, Dakota, and David.
There are 5 siblings: Malinda Theodore of South Carolina, Melanie Veon of East Palestine, Marcy Adams of Columbiana, Mike Schreffler and Mark Schreffler both of East Palestine.
He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Tommy Ray Schreffler, his grandmother Wilda Rowley, step-mother Judy Schreffler, and step-father Carl Wolford.
Merle enjoyed playing cards, going to flea markets and auctions, car detailing, fishing, and camping. He also liked gambling at Mountaineer Racetrack and Casino.
There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM Friday at the Lisbon Assembly of God with the Rev. Greg Pennington officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family requests any memorial contributions be made to the family to help defray the final expenses.
