Lisbon - Mildred I. (Midge) Hiscox, 101, formerly of Lisbon passed away Monday, October 28, 2013 at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg Township, Geauga County, with her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter Peggy at her side. Midge had been a resident of the nursing for two months.

Midge was born June 18, 1912 in Salineville to Watson and Kate (Dunbar) Bettis . She attended the Salineville Schools and enjoyed playing basketball on the high school team. After her marriage she moved to Lisbon and remained there until 2006 when she relocated to Geauga County to live with her son and daughter-in-law.

She was a homemaker except for a brief time during WWII when she worked at R. Thomas Pottery. Later in life she was a matron at the Columbiana County Home while her husband was superintendent.

Midge enjoyed her large family, reading, travel, and playing euchre with her friends at Lisbon Seniors where she was a lifetime member. She was very active in the Daughters of America, going through local and district chairs.

Midge is survived by her son Jack and daughter-in-law Dorothy of Middlefield, ten grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, twenty-six great-great-grandchildren, a great-great-great-grandson, a beloved niece, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William E. Hiscox, son William T. Hiscox, daughter-in-law Shirley Hiscox, daughter Kathy Bush, son-in-law Charles Bush, a sister Dorothy McCord, and brothers John, Clarence, and Charles Bettis.

The funeral officiated by the Rev. Pam Gable will be at 1:00 PM Thursday at the Weber Funeral Home. Calling hours are two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Care Corporation, 831 South Street, Chardon, OH 44024.
