Nana Loree Ward Arter Petrick went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 09, 2015 at the age of 89 with her family at her side. She was born September 26, 1926 to the late Edmund Ward and Lou Sexton Ward in Lisbon, Ohio of which she resided her entire life. Preceding her in death are her twin sister Zana Ward Wise Meek (Nana was the baby of the two), brothers Elwin, Roy, Leo and Eddie. Preceded also by husbands Perry L. Arter and Lewis M. Petrick, her oldest daughter Donna Jean Arter and two great grandsons.
She is survived by her daughters, Darleen and her husband David Wheeler of Las Vegas, Nevada and their families. Bessie Lou Kellner of North Lima, Ohio and her families. Sons, Paul and Linda Arter of Lisbon and their families, Don and Debbie Arter of Leetonia and their families, and step daughter, Carol and her husband Mel Bricker and their families of Lisbon.
Any one that knew Nana would know that she loved to travel and never met a stranger! She had unselfish love and affection for all mankind, regardless of race, color or creed, rich or poor. Even while befriending staff and patients at the Vista Center of Lisbon of which she resided.
She attended Lisbon High School. She was 50 year member of OES 311 Iva Chapter, former volunteer at CWU HELP center of Lisbon, Altar and Rosary member of St. George Catholic Church of Lisbon, member of St. Jacobs United Church of Christ of Leetonia, member of Columbiana County Farm Bureau.
Nana’s legacy will live on and be remembered by her loving family through her continued faith in the Lord and zest for life!
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Weber Funeral Home with Chaplain Lori Pugh of Crossroads Hospice officiating. Calling hours are 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral Home.
