Patricia Joan Ludwig, 57, of Hanoverton passed away Thursday at her home following a lengthy illness.
Born July 21, 1958 in Salem, she was a daughter of Betty (Shepard) Zepernick and the late Dean Eric Zepernick.
A homemaker, she was a graduate of United Local High School, and enjoyed gardening, especially tending her fairy gardens and butterflies. One her great pleasures was playing in the Peace Ringers at the Salem First United Methodist Church for many years. She sang in the United Local Alumni Choir as well.
Survivors include her companion of 17 years Randy Smith, her children Jesse Simon Ludwig of Guilford, Lake, Kelly Rachael (Rob Scully) Ludwig of Olmsted Falls, and Summer Kay Smith of Hanoverton as well as 5 grandchildren: Alexa, Alivia, and Amelia Ludwig, and Adeline and Eliza Scully There are 6 siblings: Becky Huston of Chagrin Falls, Chris (Mark) Hull of Rootstown, Sue (Randy) Ogden and  Amy (Jim) McDonald both of Winona, John (Melissa) Zepernick of Hanoverton, and Rob (Megan) Zepernick of Dayton. There are extended who meant much to Patty including her sister-in-law Rose Marie Sandoval of Alliance and the entire Ludwig family as well as the Smith family and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Ludwig in 1995.
There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM next Saturday, August 29 at the Salem United Methodist Church.
