Damascus -Richard Leland Montgomery, 83, formerly of Lisbon died at 8:50 PM Saturday August 29, 2009 at the Hospice House.
Born March 6, 1926 in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late Glenn and Rebecca (McClellan) Montgomery.
He was a retired US Navy Veteran having served in WW II, Korea, and Vietnam. Following his military service, he worked at NRM for 25 years.
He was a member of F.O.E. Aerie 2216, VFW Post 4111, Leetonia OSI, and was a past member of the East Liverpool Moose.
Surviving are his children Raelee (Daniel) Grove of Damascus, Teresa (Ralph, Jr.) Burton of Lisbon, and Brian Scott (Carol) Montgomery of Jacksonville, FL; a sister Kathleen Huston of Lisbon; 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
His wife, the former Rachel Corkum, whom he married in 1956 died in 1992. Also deceased are a son Richard Montgomery, II and a sister Margaret Jean Bittner.
The Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas DeMar officiating, assisted by Ben DeMar. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
