Lisbon -Robert Andrew Hodge, 82, of Lisbon passed away peacefully at 1:00 AM Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Blossom Nursing Home.
Born April 15, 1929 in Salem, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mildred (Binsley) Hodge.
He retired as part owner of Lisbon Steel Manufacturing when he was 65. He previously worked at Mullins Manufacturing, Hunt Valve Company, and Brown and Williams Construction.
A life-long area resident, he was a 1947 graduate of Salem High School and attended Youngstown State University. He was a member of Lisbon First Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and Trustee for many years. Bob held a private pilot's license, played trumpet in numerous local bands, and enjoyed playing Santa Claus and clowning.
Survivors include his wife Donna Jean (Toland) Hodge whom he married September 28, 1958; step-children Roger (Sherry) Faulk and Deborah (Michael) Rutecki both of Lisbon; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A sister, Kathryn Gross, is deceased.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Lisbon First Christian Church, 225 East Washington St., Lisbon, OH with Rev. Michael Sinclair officiating. Friends may call in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lisbon First Christian Church.
