Robert E. Sheehan, Sr., 75, of Salineville and formerly of Lisbon and Cleveland died suddenly Monday, February 24, 2014 at East Liverpool City Hospital after becoming ill at home.
Born May 18, 1938 in Cleveland, he was a son of the late John J. and Dorothy M. (Goodwin) Sheehan.
Bob had worked as a park manager for the state of Ohio at Headlands Beach in Mentor and later at Beaver Creek State Park.
He was a member of St. George Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus; he enjoyed helping with their breakfasts. He was also a member of the Lisbon Historical Society, a former member of the Lisbon Eagles, and served on Lisbon Village Council at one time. He enjoyed gardening and mowing the lawn and had a passion for politics.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years Peggy (Tilden) Sheehan, children Timi (Chris) Perry of Lisbon, Robert Sheehan, Jr. of Salineville; grandchildren Connor and Sarah Perry; and a brother Neal (Irene) Sheehan of Cleveland as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by seven siblings: Tom, Jack, and Colin Sheehan, Kate Bora, Norma West, Betty West, and Sally West.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Re. James Lang at 11:00 AM Friday at St. George Catholic Church. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Thursday at the Weber Funeral Home.
