Hanoverton - Ronald Bacon, 63, of Woodale Drive died at 4:16 AM Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Northside Medical Center in Youngstown following a sudden illness.
Born September 13, 1946 in Jacksonville, NC, he was a son of Bianca Mary (Eckfeld) Bacon and the late Dr. Wade A. Bacon.
He worked as a general supervisor for General Motors Lordstown for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2008.
A U.S. Army veteran, Ron was Protestant by faith and was a past member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed trail riding horses as well as boating. He was known as 'Mr. Fix-it' and had a special love for his dog and cats and gardening.
Beside his mother of Salem, survivors include his wife, the former Mary Ann Ieropoli whom he married May 8, 1992; Children Kristen (Eric) Stephens of Katey, TX, Cassandra (Larry) Manski of Salem, and John Michael Bacon of FL; stepson Michael John Dutton of Lisbon; five grandchildren: Kaia, Kurt, and KC Stephens, and Lauren and Emily Manski; five siblings: Roger (Ellie) Bacon of Lisbon, Curt (Sheryl) Bacon of Columbus, Christina (David) Hughes of Salem, Terri (Dan) Daniluk of McDonald and Thomas Bacon of Salem as well as many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 10 AM Saturday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
