Lisbon – Ruth Louise Barton, 95, passed away at home with her family at her side early Monday morning, December 30, 2024.
Born March 6, 1929 in Toronto, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Howard E, and Iva G. (Putnam) Myers.
Ruth worked as a cashier at A&P, Kroger, Hillyer’s, and Valu King for many years. She also owned and operated the Barton Family Home/group home for the mentally challenged from 1977 until 2006.
A member of the Lake Mount Church of Christ, she enjoyed riding and showing horses and was a member of the National Walking Horses Association, Buckeye Horsemen Association, and the Penn-Ohio Horse Association.
Survivors include her children: Thomas (Sally) Gushert, Lisbon, Barbara (Doug) Barber, Columbiana, and Danny Rambo of Lisbon, a sister, Carol Brothers, Boardman, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Herman Rambo, Paul Barton, and Eugene Gauding, her son, Paul Rambo, sisters Mary Rice and Vera Keck as well as her brother, Paul Myers.
At her request, no public service is planned.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Weber Funeral Home.
