Lisbon - Samuel Norman James, 71, formerly of Jamaica, passed away at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born September 20, 1947 in Trelawny, Jamaica, he was a son of the late George James and Burnetta Sterling.
Samuel came to Lisbon six months ago from Jamaica where he was a wood sculptor and tour operator.
Survivors include his wife Monica (Reid) James; his children: Carlene Earle of Trelawny, Jamaica, Jeffery James of Rochester, MN, Joseph James of London, England, Winsome Bailey of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jacinth Arend of Lisbon, FL, Kareen Harris of Trelawny, Jamaica, Samuel James, Jr. of Trelawny, Jamaica, Lenwall James of Ft. Myers, FL, Linford Jakes James of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Ethan James of Montego Bay, Jamaica; sisters Angela Rodney of Brooklyn, NY, and Pansy Williams of Trelawny, Jamaica; a brother, Elijah Sterling of Trelawny, Jamaica; 40 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Prince, Richard, Hubert, and Charles James, and his sisters Alice James, Gretel Davis, and Cecilia Russell.
