Millport - Warren Ezra Laughlin, 93, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:05 am Wednesday, December 25, 2013 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Laughlin was born on April 8, 1920 in Gavers to the late Walter Herman and Grace Belle (Anderson) Laughlin and had lived in the area all his life.
He retired as a machinist in 1983 from the Hunt Valve Company in Salem after 42 years of service. He was a WW II Air Force Veteran. He served as a Staff Sergeant as an airplane mechanic.
He was a devoted and active member of Harvest Baptist Church for 31 years. Among other ministries, he faithfully served as deacon, trustee, and treasurer. His church family loved and adored him. He was a long-time member of New Lisbon F & AM No. 65. He was devoted also to his grandchildren, attending all their activities.
Warren is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife of 66 years Dora Mae (Cox) Laughlin, whom he married April 4, 1947; his son Reverend Ron (Linnea) Laughlin of Salem; his daughter Kathy Sue (Vic) Jones of Lisbon; sister Evelyn Jane Thompson of Hanoverton; grandson Matthew W. (Shannon) Laughlin of Charleston, SC; granddaughters Mrs. Kristin S. (Charlie) Smith of Homeworth, Mrs. Sarah L. (Damen) Selby of Chippewa, PA, and Rebecca Jones of Lisbon; great-grandchildren Caleb and Luke Laughlin and Rachel and Nathan Selby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His sisters Mabel B. Allison, Mary M. Ketchum, and Helen McKarns as well as a brother Ray Laughlin are deceased.
There will be a celebration of life service at 1:00 PM Monday at the Harvest Baptist Church with the Revs. Ronald Laughlin and Terry Weirich officiating. Calling hours are 4 to 7 PM Sunday at the Weber Funeral Home and one prior to the service Monday at the Church. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
