Wilfred Lloyd 'Wimpy' Rudy, 94, formerly of SR 45 Lisbon died at 12:20 AM Friday, February 17, 2012 at Parkside Healthcare Center in Columbiana.
Born December 14, 1917 in Canton, Oh, he was a son of the late Lloyd Nelson and Gladys (Swisher) Rudy.
Mr. Rudy worked as a truck driver for Chicago Pittsburgh Express and later for Interstate Motor Freight Systems. He retired in 1976.
A WW II Army veteran, he was a life member of V.F.W. Post 4111. He was a member of Teamsters Local #92 Retirees Club and AARP.
Survivors include his children Leroy Rudy, Ruth Ann Perrino, and Margaret Rudy all of Lisbon, and Elizabeth Thompson of Columbiana; sisters Mary Jane Meyers of Steubenville, and Nancy Linton of North Carolina; a brother, Karol Rudy of Steubenville; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Glenna (Call) Rudy in 1976, his second wife Jane G. (Taylor) Rudy in 2008; a daughter Mary Urquhart; brothers Donald and Robert Rudy; and sisters Mildred Longworth, Florence Bratt, Lois Smith, and Katheryn Hughes as well as three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday at Weber Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Rowley officiating. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park. Friends may call 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
