Lisbon - William H. Martin, 65, passed away early Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Hospice House in Poland.
He was born November 9, 1949 in Lisbon, the son of Joanne E. (Felesky) Martin and the late William B. Martin.
Bill owned and operated Martin’s Home Improvement for many years.
He was a 1968 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School. Following High school, he enlisted in the U.S Navy. He was a hard-working member of the First Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and Trustee. Bill was also a loyal Lisbon Blue Devil football fan.
Bill enjoyed building many things, including hot rods, and restoring antique cars. He was a member of the Tri-State Antique Car Club, National Street Rod Association, and Goodguys. He was on a landspeed racecar team that raced at the Bonneville Salt Flats. One of his joys was driving and maintaining his cars. He was very proud that his truck was featured in hotrod magazines.
In addition to his mother of Lisbon, he is survived by his wife, Sue E. (McCune) Martin whom he married June 19, 1971; his daughter Heather (Steven) Hysell of Grove City, OH, two grandchildren: Ben and Libby Hysell, and numerous cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Harold Martin.
The funeral will be at 11:00 AM Monday at the First Christian Church with Rev. Doug Shoaf officiating. Burial with Military honors will be at Lisbon Cemetery. Calling hours are 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at the Weber Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
