Lisbon -William Thomas, Jr., 82, died following a brief illness at 3:30 AM Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Salem Community Hospital.
Born October 30, 1926 in Lisbon, he was a son of the late William and Emma (Fawcett) Thomas.
He retired in 1986 from NRM where he worked as an overhead crane operator and as a truck driver for twenty-seven years. He later worked as a currier for Sky Bank.
He was a U.S Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Goldie L. (Baker) Thomas whom he married November 11, 1951; 3 children: Cathy (Frederick) Brownfield, William (Deborah) Thomas, and Richard (Dawn) Thomas all of Lisbon; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Catherine and Josephine Thomas, Clara Wadding, and Mary Kusior; and a brother, Walter Thomas.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Weber Funeral Home with Mr. Thomas Derby officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
